History of Hamper

A hamper is a primarily British term for a wicker basket, usually large, that is used for the transport of items, often food.In America, the term hamper generally refers to a household receptacle for dirty clothing, regardless of its composition.

In Malaysia, the term hamper was refers to a gift or present. About One century ago, Malaysian will greeting their friends and neightbours during holidays such as Chinese New Year ,Deepavali and Hari Raya. They normally will have some chocolates, sweets, soft drinks or wine put into a 'hamper' and give away the hamper as a gift.

A new business idea was occured where a ready-made of the hamper filled with gifts as shared above was available. The Hamper was sold very well and the term hamper was no more as a hamper but a Gift
